Welcome to the homepage of Eclipse Carnival Club, Honiton, Devon
Below Our 2009 Entry ‘Icequerade’

Club History
Eclipse was formed in July 2006, after the majority of us left another club. The name was decided after around 40 suggestions were put forward and were discussed by all, and whittled down to Eclipse. It started with 15 of us from various different towns, as far apart as Chard, Somerset to Okehampton, Devon. The Aim of the club at the time was to carry on taking part in carnivals. We did so by entering in 2006 with our walking entry “Still A Float”. A very successful first year saw us take the County title for ‘Adult Groups Of Walking Masqueraders’
Club Present
Eclipse are now based at the Otter Inn, Weston, Honiton, where we have our club meetings. The float is built for the time being in another clubs shed, while we search for a new building site in the Honiton area. Since forming in 2006 the membership number has grown from 15, into at present the mid 30s. This continues to grow year on year and we are always looking for new members. With the help of High Spirits C.C, we became a 60ft mounted feature entry. The equipment we were hiring from them, has now been purchased by Eclipse. We take part in the East Devon, South Somerset, and Somerset County Guy Fawkes circuits, with our entries. A general year would see us take part in around 16 carnivals, as far apart as Axminster and Weston Super Mare. The club also works hard all year round raising money to build the entries. Keep an eye on the ‘events’ page, to see what we are up to next. Also the club has several sponsors. Without this it would make it very difficult to take part, so please check out our ‘With Thanks’ page to see a list of them.
